The Criteria in Selecting Subjects for the Degree Courses


Every student who is enrolled at this University must select Buddhist Philosophy in the first year. Apart from the compulsory Buddhist Philosophy, the student is free to select any two other subjects. However, if he was enrolled with a precondition to pursue a certain subject, he should follow that subject either as a Special Degree or a General Degree subject during the course of his academic life at the University.

Out of these subjects, only Buddhist Philosophy, Buddhist Civilization, Pali, Archaeology and Sanskrit can be pursued as Special Degree subjects. Practical Buddhist Studies, Heritage Management, Education Science, Sinhala, English are available as General Degree subjects. Buddhist Monk and Contemporary Social Understanding, Meditation and Buddhist Counseling, Logic and Scientific Method, Writing Skills (Sinhala / English) are foundation courses while Foundation Course in Information Technology and Compulsory English are subjects without Credits.
